REVIEW:
On June 6, 2000, Tom Forsey released his first CD titled “Another Chapter Down.” It contains 14 tracks of down home Folk/Blues tunes, each one soaked in poetic honesty and musical integrity. Tom describes his music as “raw sounds with high emotion.” Okay, we’ve all heard musicians tooting their own horns about the emotion surrounding their music… but rarely do we ever hear music that just makes you want to walk down to the creek, put your feet in, and throw rocks. Whoa, what does that mean? It means Tom Forsey has taken some dreaming and ideas, added the help of some very talented friends and come up with an amazing recording. Tom has put together a top-notch ensemble of 10 musicians, who play an arry of instruments. The collection of musicians showcases its talent and helps bring Tom’s music to a strong rewarding pinnacle. In the same vein as Tom Petty and Neil Young, Forsey brings his introspective thoughts to the stage and presents them with overwhelming spontaneity and clarity. Congratulations to Tom Forsey are in order, and so is a high recommendation from this reviewer.
