REVIEW: To the Core is the new effort from Tom Forsey and I gotta tell you, it's genius. There are so many different influences here. Every song is different from the next, and each has all the parts to make it a great tune. Tom plays a lot of instruments, but he has some incredible players playing, too. You will hear Andy Hamburger, Benjie Porecki, Lenny Williams, Keith Mitchell, Steve Sachse, Mike Ault, Dave Hanbury, Dave Giegerich, Todd McDaniel, Terry Mettam and Steve Steckler.

For the most part, I would say it is an acoustic-electric effort with wonderful vocals, perfect instrumentation, and a magic that only players of this caliber can create. If you are into laid back, good feeling, acoustic, folk and rock-and-roll, you will really enjoy this. It's kind of like John Mellencamp, Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, The Beatles, Bruce Hornsby, Elton John, and Billy Joel all rolled into one. There are times on this record when you are stopped dead in your tracks, the music is so touching. And it's cool… the melodies really fit the lyrics. What a songwriter Forsey is. Many songs stand out, but "Off and Running" is right on, and so is "Glad With You". It's rock-and-roll… every element of rock and roll. I was jamming with Forsey and company… feet tapping and head nodding.

To the Core is proof positive that Tom Forsey and company are at the top of their collective game.
